2. Breeder's Limited Health Guarantee
The Breeder guarantees that the puppy is in good health at the time of sale, having received a thorough veterinary examination. This guarantee is subject to the following terms:
- 5 day Initial Health Check: The Buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 5 days of taking possession. A copy of this initial wellness report must be provided to the Breeder. Failure to do so will void this guarantee.
- One-Year Guarantee: The Breeder guarantees the puppy against congenital, or hereditary defect, that causes dearh of the dog before 1 year. This is one year from the date of the puppies birth.
- Notification of Claim: If a covered condition is diagnosed, the Buyer must notify the Breeder in writing within three days of the diagnosis and provide all veterinary records, including documentation from a licensed vet detailing the condition.
- Breeder's Option: Upon verification of the condition by a veterinarian of the Breeder's choosing (at the Breeder's expense), the Breeder's obligation is to provide a replacement puppy of equal value from the next available litter. The Buyer is responsible for all transportation costs associated with the new puppy.
- Exclusions: This guarantee does not cover common ailments of brachycephalic breeds, such as elongated soft palate, stenotic nares, cherry eye and entropion. It also excludes viral illnesses (e.g., kennel cough), parasites (e.g., giardia, coccidia), allergies, or issues caused by neglect or injury. Any veterinary bills incurred are the responsibility of the Buyer. Overheating and exhaustion are not covered.
3. Buyer's Responsibilities
The Buyer agrees to the following conditions to validate and maintain this guarantee:
- Proper Veterinary Care: Provide regular, routine, and preventive veterinary care, including all necessary vaccinations and deworming.
- Nutrition: Feed the puppy a high-quality, premium dog food, and avoid overfeeding to prevent obesity.
- Housing: Provide a safe and secure home, and never allow the puppy to roam unattended.
- Neuter/Spay Requirement: If sold with limited registration, the Buyer agrees to have the puppy spayed or neutered by 1 year. Failure to do so renders agreement null and void.
- No Shelter/Rescue Relinquishment: In the event the Buyer can no longer care for the dog, the Buyer agrees to notify the Breeder immediately. The dog must be returned to the Breeder and will not be surrendered to a shelter or rescue organization.
4. Limited AKC Registration
- This puppy is being sold with Limited AKC Registration, as defined by the American Kennel Club.
- As such, the dog is not eligible for entry into Conformation events, and any offspring produced by this dog will not be eligible for AKC registration.
- Breeding this dog, intentionally or accidentally, will void this entire guarantee and may result in penalties outlined by the Breeder.
